It only takes a minute!

Are you at risk for Diabetes? It only takes a minute to find out! American Diabetes Association Alert Day® is a one-day “wake-up call”. Go to the link below and take the test for yourself! Just click on the words “Take the Test” below!

Take the Test!

The Diabetes Risk Test asks users to answer simple questions about weight, age, family history and other potential risk factors for prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. Preventative tips are provided for everyone who takes the test, including encouraging those at high risk to talk with their health care provider.

For every Diabetes Risk Test taken, Boar’s Head® – manufacturer of premium delicatessen products – will donate $5 to the American Diabetes Association starting March 27 through April 27, 2012, up to $50,000.

Although Alert Day is a one-day event, the Diabetes Risk Test is available year-round.

There is much we as women can do to prevent Diabetes. Diabetes is a serious health condition that affects women in all life stages. It is unique to women because it can affect the health of both a mother and her unborn children. With the increasing life span of women and the rapid growth of minority populations in the United States, the number of women at high risk for diabetes and its complications will continue to increase. Of the 15.7 million people with diabetes in the United States, more than half (8.1 million) are women.

Log on to The American Diabetes Association website and take the test, take it with your kids, take it with your loved ones. Diabetes Type II is preventable, take the first step! Be Well!
